One problem with accelerating and decelerating for sound is that it's dangerous. Your rate of travel is erratic -- a problem for you and for other drivers -- and you're accelerating while focused on the sound rather than where you're going and what the dangers ahead are. Likewise, slowing down for no apparent reason can get you rear-ended. If you can't get a SuperTrapp, drilling a couple of holes might be the way to go. It's probably better for the Savage, too.
